United Kingdom (in English, United Kingdom), week 1 or abbreviated RU (UK in English), officially United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (in English, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland), week 2 is Europe A sovereign country and island nation located in the northwest of the continent. Its territory is geographically formed by the islands of Great Britain, the northeast of the island of Ireland and adjacent small islands. After the Republic of Ireland’s independence, Northern Ireland was the only region with a land border until the opening of the Channel Tunnel connecting the British Isles by land to France and mainland Europe. The United Kingdom is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, the North Sea to the east, the English Channel to the south and the Irish Sea to the west.
The United Kingdom is a single country made up of four constituent countries: Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland9. It is governed by a parliamentary system with the government and capital in London, but the three decentralized national administrations are located in Edinburgh, Cardiff. Belfast, the capital of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It is a parliamentary monarchy with Carlos III as the head of state. They are colloquially and incorrectly referred to as Great Britain and England, because the two (territories and kingdoms, respectively) hold greater weight within the country. Although the British government is responsible for Britain’s defense and international relations, it is not part of the UK.12
Britain has 14 overseas territories, all of which are vestiges of the British Empire. The British Empire occupied one-fifth of the world’s land area in international territory. Carlos III continues to be Head of the Commonwealth of Nations and Head of State for each kingdom in the Commonwealth.
It is a developed country that ranks 5th in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) (nominal GDP) and 9th in terms of PPP GDP. During the 19th and early 20th centuries14 (1815-1945) they were the world’s first industrialized country13 and a major world power, but the economic costs of the two world wars and the decline of their empire in the second part their role in international relations in the 20th century. this has decreased. However, it still retains considerable economic, cultural, military and political influence and is a nuclear power. It was a member of the European Union from 1973 to 2020 and withdrew from it in a process known as Brexit.
